7U FOOTBALL PROGRAM

A STRONG START TO THEIR FOOTBALL JOURNEY

Welcome to Azteca Football’s 7U Program, a place where young athletes can take their first steps into football while becoming part of a supportive team environment. Through age-appropriate instruction, players are introduced to the game, begin building confidence on the field, and experience the importance of teamwork, discipline, and belonging.

Whether they are completely new to football or already beginning their journey, 7U gives young players a place to learn, participate, and grow as part of the Azteca family.

About the 7U Division

The 7U Division is designed to introduce young athletes to the foundations of football in an environment centered on learning, participation, teamwork, and gradual development. At this stage, players begin becoming familiar with the structure of the game while learning how to move, communicate, follow instruction, and work together as a team.

For some players, 7U may be their very first experience with organized football, while others may already have some familiarity with the sport. The program provides a place where both can continue developing through age-appropriate instruction, fundamental skill work, team practices, and exposure to football situations that help make the game easier to understand.

Within the Azteca development pathway, 7U serves as an important starting point. Rather than focusing only on competition, we emphasize creating a solid foundation that players can continue building upon as they grow. Along the way, athletes are encouraged to develop confidence, discipline, responsibility, respect, and a sense of belonging within their team and the Azteca Football family.

What Your Player Will Work On

At the 7U level, training is centered on helping young athletes become familiar with the essential building blocks of football. Practices introduce fundamental movements, techniques, and team concepts through age-appropriate instruction that allows players to learn while becoming more comfortable on the field.

Players will work on areas such as proper movement and positioning, ball handling, catching, basic blocking and tackling fundamentals, communication, following assignments, and understanding simple offensive and defensive concepts. They will also begin learning how individual responsibilities connect to the success of the entire team.

BUILD THE FUNDAMENTALS. UNDERSTAND THE GAME. GROW WITH CONFIDENCE.

The goal at this stage is not perfection. It is to give every player opportunities to practice the fundamentals, understand their role, learn from coaching, and gradually build the football knowledge and confidence they can carry into the next stages of their development.

More Than Game Day

At Azteca Football, development is about more than learning football techniques. We want young athletes to grow in different areas that can help them become more prepared, confident, responsible, and connected to their team.

Physical Development

Players work on movement, coordination, balance, agility, conditioning, and body control through age-appropriate football activities. These foundations support better technique and help athletes become more comfortable with the physical demands of the game.

Mental Development

Football challenges players to listen, think, communicate, make decisions, and respond to changing situations on the field. Through practice and repetition, athletes can strengthen focus, football awareness, confidence, and their ability to learn from both success and mistakes.

Personal & Team Development

Being part of Azteca also means learning how to contribute to something bigger than yourself. Players are encouraged to develop discipline, responsibility, respect, communication, teamwork, and leadership while learning how to support their teammates and represent the Azteca family with pride.

WHY CHOOSE AZTECA

What Training Looks Like

Training in the 7U Program is designed to help young players learn through instruction, practice, and repetition. Each training session gives athletes opportunities to work on individual fundamentals while gradually learning how those skills connect to their responsibilities within the team.

Football Fundamentals

Players are introduced to essential football movements, techniques, positioning, and basic concepts. The focus is on helping them understand how and why each fundamental is used during play.

Individual Skill Work

Players spend time developing skills related to their position and current level of development. Coaches provide guidance and corrections that help each athlete understand what they are working on and where they can continue improving.

Repetition & Practice

Young athletes need opportunities to repeat what they learn. Consistent practice helps players become more familiar with techniques, remember assignments, and gradually feel more comfortable performing football skills.

Team Practice

Individual development comes together through team practice. Players learn to communicate, follow assignments, work with teammates, and apply their fundamentals within offensive, defensive, and game-like situations.

What Players Develop

At Azteca Football, player development goes beyond learning plays or preparing for games. Our training environment is designed to help young athletes strengthen different areas of their development through consistent practice, coaching, teamwork, and age-appropriate football instruction.

Every player develops at a different pace, so our focus is on creating opportunities to learn, improve, build confidence, and become more comfortable with the responsibilities that come with being part of a football team.
